From Goodreads:
I live in a world without magic or miracles. A place where there are no clairvoyants or shapeshifters, no angels or superhuman boys to save you. A place where people die and music disintegrates and things suck. I am pressed so hard against the earth by the weight of reality that some days I wonder how I am still able to lift my feet to walk.

Review:
This. Book. This book. This book. I have no idea where to start or what to say about this book other than it’s amazing!! Absolutely, truly amazing!! I couldn’t put it down, and since I was having trouble sleeping anyway, I stayed up waaaaay too late to finish it!! Seriously, it’s that good!! *wink*
I’d never heard of this book until I noticed it mentioned on a few blogs as a favorite. I thought I’d check it out at some point to see what the hype was all about. Then Cristina recommended (& gifted – thanks again sooooo much!!) it to me as well, so I knew I needed to read it soon. But Cristina told me not to read the blurb or any reviews. For the most part, I always go into books knowing something about them – either by the blurb, or because it’s by a favorite author, part of a series, reviewed on other blogs, etc. I rarely go into a book blind, but this time I followed my instructions,! *snickers*
“There are so many things that can break you if there’s nothing to hold you together.”
So, in case there are others that haven’t tried this book yet, I’m going to try to be as vague and spoiler-free as I can with this review. I’d like those that haven’t read the book to go into it blind, too (if they decide to read it). That’s why I’m not including the full blurb from Goodreads, and I tried to find spoiler-free quotes. I’ll probably just end up gushing and fangirling all over this review, but hopefully that will make you want to read this book even more!
“Do real boys actually call girls baby? I don’t have enough experience to know. I do know that if a guy ever called me baby, I’d probably laugh in his face. Or choke him.”
I went into this book not knowing what to expect, but I was hooked immediately from the prologue. It drew me in, and I wanted to know more about Nastya Kashnikov. She was such determined, yet strange girl. Then Josh Bennett was introduced. Intriguing and lonely Josh Bennett. I wanted to know more about him, too. And I wanted to know if they would fall in love – I really hoped they would fall in love. *sigh*
“Good morning, Sunshine.”
Those are the 2 main characters. It’s mostly their story, but we find out tidbits about the secondary characters (& they’re pretty awesome too!). It’s definitely a well-developed story with a well-rounded cast. And it caused varied emotions from me, LOL!
“Daylight won’t protect you from anything. Bad things happen all the time; they don’t wait until after dinner”
All in all, I whole heartedly agree with Cristina’s one word summary about this book: PERFECTION. It truly is perfection in book form, and I LOVED it so very much!! If you haven’t read this book, then you really need to – but don’t read the blurb or anymore reviews! Just read the book. If you have already read this book, do you agree – PERFECTION?
Since I love this story so much I want to gift a copy to a lucky reader!

YAY…sooooooooooo glad you loved it!!! I love going in to a book blind. Sometimes the less you know, the better. *shrugs* I go into 50% of the books I read blind and I try to do that with films too but it’s not always easy but when I can…I do. I can’t wait for someone else to discover this gem of a book!

I’m not sure why, but I’ve always been so interested in this book. It may be the title, that gorgeous cover (which I featured in one of my features) or the beautiful blurb there. I’m generally not even in to NA, but I’ve heard this has more of a YA feel sort of. Either way, it’ll be a great NA book start out with.
Ah, I’ve entered the giveaway, I hope I win. I’ve heard it’s really great and obviously you loved it so, I can’t wait to read it. Ah, so I wasn’t supposed to read the blurb for this one. Haha, no problem, I’ll most likely forget it anyway.
