From goodreads: They agreed on three months…but their love knew no boundaries.
Jack McLachlan is a winemaking magnate and easily one of Australia’s most eligible bachelors. His success and wealth make him no stranger to the complications of romantic relationships and that’s why he goes to extreme measures to avoid the hassle. He prefers simplicity in the form of a beautiful female companion with no strings attached. He arranges relationships like business deals and they’re always the same. No long-term relationships. No real names.
It’s his game and his rules. He’s content to play as usual, but when Laurelyn Prescott enters his life, his strategy must change because this player is like none he’s ever encountered. His world is turned on its head after he begins a three-month affair with the beautiful American musician. Nothing goes according to plan and as he breaks more and more of his own rules for her, she’s exceptionally close to becoming something he never thought possible. His ultimate game changer.
Not recommended for younger readers due to sexual content and language.
I read Beauty from Pain after a long and hard week of life in general and this book is exactly what the doctor ordered. It’s one of those stories that are fun and sexy with a touch of angst. What’s not to love about a handsome and wealthy Australian that promises to make the next three months the time of your life? I read this book in a day and it was totally worth my while!
Yes, it’s predictable and the plot isn’t necessarily unique because this story has been done before in different variations. However with that being said I loved this story a lot because sometimes you need this type of book to help take the edge off and put a smile on your face. What can I say…I thought it was fantastic!
It was nice to see that Laurelyn was an outgoing, spunky and laid back heroine as opposed to meek or shy and that’s a refreshing change. Jack is your typical rich and dominant gentleman in search of companionship and Laurelyn is the gal he aims to proposition. Of course she says yes because what gal wouldn’t and what starts out as no-strings-attached relationship quickly progresses into something more.
As the story moves along, secrets are revealed but not all, feelings are shared and those intimate moments will make you wish you were Laurelyn! The story doesn’t wrap-up nice and neat because it leaves you on a cliffhanger!! I kept hitting my kindle in hopes I would find another chapter but sadly that wasn’t the case and I have to wait until May for the second book in the series, Beauty from Surrender.
My final two cents: This is the perfect book to take your mind off your troubles because it’s fun, light and you’ll love every moment with Jack!!! Let the countdown begin for book 2!!!
