From goodreads: Lexi has finally given up her once destructive relationships and moved onto bigger and better things with a sexy new man in town. Just when she is starting to figure it out with him, her world is tilted once again with a phone call from none other than Ramsey Bridges. A year after his entrance into her life, Ramsey is trying to make amends and does the one thing she never expects—invites her to Jack’s wedding.
The wedding she had evaded at all costs. But no matter what she does, Lexi can’t seem to escape her past with Jack. But does she really want to?
Despite the explosive chemistry between Lexi and Ramsey, she is skeptical about trusting him after everything that has happened. When things are amiss with him, she starts questioning his motives. Can Ramsey be the one to remove Jack from Lexi’s life permanently or should she move on with her blossoming new life?
This is better than the first book and I love it when an author out-does herself! I absolutely love it! Avoiding Responsibility had me chompin’ at the bit because of all the drama, the deceit, the mystery and I wasn’t even sure if Lexi was going to get her act together! Can I get an amen for the minimal Jack presence?? AMEN!
K.A. Linde took me on Lexi’s post Jack devastation journey and just when I thought that I had her figured out…she introduces a mystery man!!! That’s right, I’m remaining tight-lipped on that one because you will have to suffer through that entire story as I did. All I kept thinking was…WTF!?!? I’ve always been Team Ramsey but I think I fell more in love with him this time around for the man who he’s trying to become and he can do no wrong in my eyes!
Lexi definitely made progress in this book but OH MY GAWD…there were so many moments when I wanted to throttle her!!! She’s definitely stronger and more in control but the old Lexi definitely reared her ugly head which gave me heartburn several times thought this damn book! GAH! There were things done by everyone in this book that gave me either heartburn or high blood pressure but truth be told…I was loving all the drama that could have been avoided by one simple conversation! Sorry for the run-on sentence but that’s what this book did to me!!!
I felt like everyone was keeping a ton of secrets this time around and I could barely handle it. I almost feel like writing this review in shouty-caps so you can feel the way the intense drama affected me. And the twist is so good that you can’t even guess even if you tried!
“We have such a long history that when I look into his eyes that’s all I can see. I forget the stupidity of what we’ve done and who could get hurt. I just remember the man who loved me once”
My final two cents: Better than the first!!! Enjoy the drama because it’s that damn good!
