Letting Go by Jennifer Foor

Savanna Tate has loved the same guy since she was 14yrs old. Now she and Tyler are in their second year of college. While Savanna is concentrating on maintaining her high grade point average and academic scholarship, Tyler is busy partying with his frat brothers and screwing around on his girlfriend behind her back.  Savanna decides they need a break, just so she can focus and maybe change his mind about his priorities. One night at a party Savanna catches Ty in the act and after a heated argument, she leaves. In fear of losing her forever, Tyler steals a car and proceeds to follow her even after he had too much to drink. He loses control of the vehicle and from the injuries of the accident he goes into a coma.  Everyone blames Savanna for Ty’s accident. She loses her friends. His family disowns her. She stops being around people and spends most of her time at the hospital waiting for Ty to wake up so that they can start over and have the future she always wanted.  Then his cousin Colt comes back to town to help with the Mitchell family’s farm.  The chemistry between them is electric, but is Savanna willing to let go of Ty to explore her feelings for Colt?

There was so much about this book that I wanted to love from the moment I opened it to the moment I closed it.  However, I did really enjoy it a lot…BUT…yes, there is a “but”.   But there were a few conversations between Savanna and Colt that seemed a bit hokey.   Next, Colt is dating Ty’s ex-girlfriend, Savanna and clearly he doesn’t know she’s an “ex”.  Regardless, once he finds out you would think it’s something really hard to get over…especially when his cousin is the one that’s dating her! It doesn’t play out that way at all and that was a little disappointing.

With everything I’ve just pointed out, I still liked the book a lot!  Why?  Why not!?!   Jennifer Foor did a wonderful job of painting a beautiful picture of the towns that they were both from and the people who lived there.  I felt as though I was able to close my eyes and see both the landscape and people that she painted with her words and that’s a beautiful thing!  That’s also what she did when creating the immediate attraction between Savanna and Colt.

Colt and Savanna have great chemistry together, there’s very little “push & pull” between the two but it doesn’t matter at all.   The way Colt cares for Savanna, it’s enough to make your heart melt and those moments between the two of them that screams, HOLY LOVE-MAKING at its finest…it fogged up my glasses!!!  What’s a girl got to do to find someone like Colt in Boca Raton??  I mean, seriously!!!

Colt comes into Savanna’s life at her absolute lowest and she’s despised by Ty’s family and friends.  Not to mention she contemplates why she’s alive at all considering Ty is in a coma.  A friendship develops which turns into something way more than that. Between him calling her darlin’ every second and Savanna  becoming comfortable calling him baby, it’s hard not to love the two of them together.  Then angst surrounding Colt’s father was heartbreaking and that drama was enough to keep you guessing if Colt and Savanna would make it as a couple or push them further apart.

I’m looking forward to the second book in the series and I’m not sure if it will continue on with Colt and Savanna or if it will pick-up with Ty.  No matter how much of a douche I thought Ty was, I wouldn’t mind finding out who tames this two-timing ex-boyfriend.  Either way, I will be sure to read it.  :)

Nice review! I added it to my TBR even if there were some down-sides to the story as well. I found your blog on one of Goodread’s blog groups, and I am following you via e-mail.
Here’s my blog if you want to check it out.

Setting-up this blog has proven to be quite difficult for me. Don’t get me wrong, enjoyable but difficult and all these widgets are tough to figure out at times. I’m working on giving people a few more options on how they want to follow. It two me almost 2 months how to figure out how to add my twitter icon!!! LOL ;)
