Onyx

Onyx (Lux Series #2)

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town…

The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we’re linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there’s this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that’s possible. Against all common sense, I’m falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies.

Where do I start???  I love this book!!!  Onyx is the follow-up book to Obsidian  and if you haven’t read Obsidian, go buy it now.

Jennifer L. Armentrout has done it again and even better than the last!  I didn’t think it was possible but she did.  I waited patiently for Onyx to arrive and when it did, I had to will myself to read this book slowly and not devour it.  I do enjoy paranormal stories about Angels, Vampires, etc. and I never thought that Aliens would do it for me.  And now, Aliens do it for me, big time!!  It reminded me of both the movie Cocoon but younger and the TV show Roswell, except Onyx is way better.

Onyx has great humor, action and the romance is absolutely hot!!  Katy is a wonderful main character who has spunk, awesome comebacks and is a total badass.  There are times when I wanted to smack her around due to her poor choices but overall, she’s one of my favorite heroines in the world of paranormal.  Daemon is the love interest and if he wants to feed me a cookie from his mouth, I will take it any day of the week!!!  There is this amazing push and pull between Katy and Daemon which creates a ton of sexual tension.  The push and pull between the two is what makes the build-up to that moment you are waiting for so worth it.  There is a ton of misunderstandings between the two and who wants a happy ending at the beginning of a book??  I want them to work for it and that they did.  The miscommunication is due to the arrival of a new student (enter Blake) and boy-oh-boy do things get interesting.

The story ends a little abruptly but that’s okay because it means Opal, the third book in the series will be released on December 11, 2012.  Something to look forward to and I can’t wait!  :)

Even if YA Paranormal isn’t your thing, trust me, you will want to read this book and you’ll love it!!!

Hi! I’m glad you like my review and your feedback means a lot. :) I loved the Lux series but you should read Obsidian first because if not, it won’t make sense. It’s funny, action packed and sexy! I thoroughly enjoyed them both and I can’t wait for Opal to be released in December! Thanks again for following! :)
